Biography

Abdulrahman Alebrahim is an Assistant Professor of History at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. He received his PhD from the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. His research focuses on the modern history of the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula, with particular emphasis on Kuwait, Najd, and Al-Zubayr.

Drawing on a critical reading of nineteenth- and twentieth-century archival and historical sources, his work explores the political, social, and intellectual history of the region, with special attention to the formation of Gulf sheikhdoms and state-building processes. His broader research interests include the history of slavery, cultural history, religious thought, and the recovery of marginalized and overlooked histories in the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula.

His publications include books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and book chapters in both Arabic and English, contributing to the historiography of the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
